Frequently Asked Questions about IFS Logistics Training

IFS Logistics Version 3 is an internationally recognized standard for evaluating logistics services in the areas of transport, warehousing, and distribution. It ensures that quality and product safety are guaranteed throughout the logistics chain.

The audit is conducted by an accredited certification body and includes an on-site assessment of your processes (e.g., warehousing, handling, transport). Documentation, implementation, and the effectiveness of the measures are examined and evaluated using a defined assessment system.

That depends heavily on the starting point. Companies with existing quality management structures often need several weeks to a few months, especially for the adaptation of risk assessments, documentation and process control.

While IFS Food focuses on the production and processing of food, IFS Logistics focuses on transport, storage, and distribution. Interfaces, temperature control, and service provider management are particularly relevant here.

IFS Broker assesses trading companies without physical contact with goods. IFS Logistics, on the other hand, concerns companies that actually store or transport products and therefore have a direct influence on product safety and quality.

HACCP is a central component of the standard. However, the focus is on logistics-specific risks such as temperature deviations, contamination, or damage – not on production processes.

The evaluation is based on a points system (A, B, C, D) as well as major assessment criteria and knockout criteria. Even minor deviations can affect the overall result, which is why structured preparation is crucial.

The audit is usually carried out annually.

  • Approx. 4 hours for the online training (including breaks)
  • Important: Ensure an interference-free environment and stable Internet access from the PC.

After completing the training, you will receive a certificate for successful participation in the IFS Logistics Version 3 training.
