This training course on food labeling will answer these and other questions. Anyone creating or checking food labels bears a great responsibility. Errors in product names, ingredient lists, allergen labeling, net quantity, nutritional information, or health claims can have legal consequences and mislead or endanger consumers. In this training course, you will learn the most important requirements of the Food Information Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 (LMIV) in a practical way and practice reliably evaluating labeling elements.

Why is training on food labeling important?

Food labeling is a central component of Consumer protection, legal certainty and product safety. Consumers must be able to clearly identify what a food product is, what ingredients it contains, which allergens are relevant, and how the product can be used safely.

In practice, labeling errors often arise from unclear product names, incorrect ingredient lists, incomplete allergen information, incorrect quantity labeling or inadmissible health claims. Discrepancies between specifications, recipes, labels, and online information can quickly lead to risks. This training will teach you how to systematically check labeling elements and avoid typical errors. The LMIV training course lasts approximately 7.5 hours and takes place live online. It is led by Simone Hoffmann, an expert in food labeling and labeling law. You will receive a structured overview of European and German legal frameworks, the requirements of Food Information Regulation and the most important Identification elements of pre-packaged goods. In addition, the loose distribution, which covers the LMIDV and principles of the Health Claims Regulation.

The training uses examples, exercises, and discussions. This will teach you how to check labels more reliably, recognize typical errors, and apply the requirements to your operational practice.
