The online training lasts approximately 60 minutes. You can complete the training at your own pace and pause and resume it later within your access period.

This training is aimed at employees who handle food and require knowledge of food hygiene as part of their job. This includes, in particular, employees in the catering industry, institutional food service, catering, food processing, food retail, and food production.

Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 requires that persons handling food be monitored according to their activities and receive instruction and/or training in food hygiene. The regulation does not specify a concrete annual interval. In practice, hygiene training is often refreshed annually and adapted to the activities, risks, and training needs of the employees.

No. The training according to § 4 of the German Food Hygiene Regulation (LMHV) serves to demonstrate the required expertise for certain individuals who handle highly perishable foods. Regular food hygiene training, on the other hand, serves for job-related instruction and refreshing of hygiene knowledge.

No. The initial instruction according to § 43 of the Infection Protection Act (IfSG) and the follow-up instruction by the employer are separate requirements. Food hygiene training does not replace these instructions.
